N95 Battery Life!

Is there anybody out there own N95 or N82 Nokia Phone? I’m pretty sure that you guys had realized the battery life for these two phones are very poor. It not so obvious if you only send sms or use normal basic phone functions but as a Multimedia device or smartphone this is ridiculous. These are a few good basic tips to get the best performance for your Nokia N-Series batteries and other smartphone phone as well I would say.

  1. If you not using Video Call or 3G service frequently why not just disable the function. The best power save is by turning off 3G network searching. To do this Tool à Settings à Phone à Network à Network Mode à Set to GSM not Dual or DMTS
  2. Change the Packet data connection set to “When Needed”. To do this Tools à Settings à Connection à Packet Data à Set packet data connection to “When Needed”
  3. Make sure your WLAN scanning is turned off otherwise the phone keep searching for available WLAN surrounding. To do this Tools à Settings àConnection à Wireless Lan à Show WLAN availabiblity à Set to “Never”. If you use WLAN a lot then it’s a good idea to turn down the WLAN transmit power to 10mW.
  4. Turn off the Animated Screensavers.
  5. Reduce screen display time or the backlight time.
  6. Turn Bluetooth off whenever you don’t use it.
  7. Don’t leave applications running by accident, check by holding down Menu Key, select the unwanted application then from the option select exit. Nokia phone is not same like Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson will turn off the application if you press red button/hang-up button but not Nokia. The application still running until you turns it off manually.

Hope these basic tips did help ya.
